Windows XP x64 - Dual boot with xp32

Ok, so I feel the time is right to tryout XP Pro x64 the 64bit version of XP.
The download of the 120 day trial is 39% downloaded and my google searches have come up with all positives on this OS stability on my laptop (Acer Aspire 5022WLMi -AMD64 Turion, 1gb, 100gb, pci-e Ati x700)
I really don't expect too much gain as all applications will be running in 32bit. The hope is I will gain more performance while multitasking - although this laptop really is a great machine even by todays standards (3yrs old now)
I expect to upgrade the ram if this experiment goes well. A new bigger hdd will also be required ;)
Watch this space for updates on how it works out!
UPDATE
Installed and got ati radeon x700 drivers from european acer support site - works
Installed Broadcomm drivers from acer site - installed ok but required Launch Manager to be installed so the front button would work.
Installed sp2 for xp pro x64- worked
Why do Microsoft offer a 120 day trial which is only SP1??
After downloading the iso >500mb then you must download sp2 which is another 360mb....but wait for it....you then must download a futher 170mb of updates!!!!
Now as this is trial software, why isn't it the most recent updated version???
Microsoft....you are getting really sloppy !!

The Net Generation.....

Back in the early days (87-mid 90's), the only computer users were business staff and geeks. The only "networking" was a null cable connecting 2 pcs via rs232 and a "network" linked option in a game.
If you had a modem, you connected via telephone line to a Bulletin Board like Compuserve.
No fancy web graphics or media enchanced pages....just "DOS" style text lists etc. Yet we were addicted to the potential it gave us. Knowledge bases and files that you could never have sourced anywhere else.

>>>> Jump to today!! WOW!

The whole modern world seems to be connected in an endless network of multimedia, glossy interactive world of blogs, chatrooms, gaming, forums, podcasts, vlogs, VOIP, webcams, P2P programs.....endless!!
The web is now a necessity for mordern living.
Take an example of my kids - 3yr, 7yr, 8yr, 14yr and 16yr old. Each have their "things they do" on the web! MY 3yr old!!!! Can you beleive it. She goes on Ceebebees & Club Penguin.
My 7 yr girl also chats on ClubPenguin and MSN to her friends and family and now has her own blog!!!

The boys are gaming geeks, running servers and gaming on multiple platforms! If theres a game crack or cheat out there..they know it. Gurus 2 b!
They have their own network in house and even wardrive!!
My step son in USA is an awesome programmer in many languages. Another guru in the making.
My stepdaughter is a Bebo and social networking user.

My wife - does her OU degree online daily and uses MSN to keep in touch with family in USA.

Me, I keep them all up and running, teaching new progs, fixing connections, removing rogue software....I really should look for a wage from my family lolol

I now have ALL my neices and nephews online, chatting to each other, webcaming, and gaming.....all ages.
The kids just blow my mind. They learn so quick and make it look so easy. The Net Generation!

Funniest Video on You Tube....

This has got to be the funniest thing on the web. Harry Enfield / Paul Whitehouse are comic genuses.
